Two moves in the investments realm this week: Jonathan Napper has joined Pillar Commercial as acquisitions director, and Patrick Giles has joined CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners as director of investment sales.
Napper comes to Pillar from Brook Partners, the company led by John Sughrue that’s developing Museum Tower. Prior to that he was with CB Richard Ellis for five years, where he specialized in the sale of investment properties on behalf of institutional and private investors, serving on a team that closed more than $4 billion in office deals. After graduating from Harvard University, he kicked off his career at Archon Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, focusing on investments for the Whitehall Funds.
At Pillar (which is headed up by 2011 NTCAR Stemmons Award winner Manny Ybarra), Napper will be responsible for sourcing acquisition opportunities that fit the companies investment strategies, as well as handling financial analysis, negotiations, and due diligence.
CASE, meanwhile, has lured Giles away from Marcus & Millichap, where he was a director of investment sales. Prior to that he owned and operated small apartment complexes and also directed print media sales for a local newspaper. He has a decade of experience in the real estate industry, with a past transaction volume of more than $100 million.
At CASE, Giles will focus on the sale of income properties, mostly office, industrial, and medical facilities in North Texas. He said he was drawn to the firm because of its Texas focus, local expertise, and entrepreneurial culture. “The move also gave me the opportunity to reunite with David Tuttle, a past colleague on the investment team with whom I’ve had a very successful working relationship in the past,” Giles said in a statement.
